PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
has a calming effect on the central nervous system and has a moderate reflex vasodilator effect.
The effect of the drug is largely due to reflex reactions associated with irritation of sensitive nerve endings of the oral cavity. The irritation of mucosal receptors is accompanied by the stimulation of the formation and release of enkephalins and peptides that play an important role in regulating pain sensations, vascular permeability and other processes.
Sedative and spasmolytic effect is due mainly to the action of isovaleric acid.
The effect of the drug begins after 1 3 minutes after administration and lasts for 15-30 minutes.
INDICATIONS:
functional cardialgia, mild angina attacks of angioneurotic character, neurosis. Can enhance the sedative effect of soothing drugs. The drug is also used as an antiemetic for sea and air sickness.
APPLICATION:
The capsule is held under the tongue until it is completely dissolved. To accelerate the effect, you can crush the capsule with your teeth.
The frequency of taking the drug depends on the frequency of attacks of angina pectoris. During seizures take 1 capsule under the tongue. If it is necessary to treat angina and other conditions, the daily dose of the drug may be 6 capsules (0.6 g) per day.
With insufficient effectiveness, they switch to organic nitrate therapy.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
increased sensitivity to Corvalence, acute myocardial infarction, acute disorders of cerebral circulation, severe arterial hypotension; children under the age of 6 years.
SIDE EFFECTS:
in isolated cases, mild nausea, lacrimation, dizziness are possible. These phenomena are short-lived, pass by themselves.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Do not use Corvalation for severe attacks of angina pectoris.
INTERACTIONS:
Corvalament can be used in combination with preparations that improve metabolic processes (vitamins, potassium and magnesium asparaginate, inosine, etc.). It is an effective remedy for headache caused by the intake of nitrates. May enhance the effect of sedatives.
