What is Grandaxin?
Grandaxin (trade name Tofisopam) is an anxiolytic drug used in Europe and Russia. He belongs to the family of benzodiazepines. However, grandaxin has a different pharmacological effect than other benzodiazepine tranquilizers.
The main active ingredient of Grandaxin is tofizopam, which is a crystalline powder of a yellowish hue.
It does not bind to benzodiazepine receptors, does not cause dependence and does not possess amnesic or muscle relaxant effects in the therapeutic dosage.
The reason for such differences is the chemical structure of Tofizopam. This is a derivative of 2,3-benzodiazepine, which differs from 1,4-benzodiazepines (for example, alprazolam, diazepam or phenazepam) at the position of nitrogen atoms.
Grandaxin is sold as an anxiolytic remedy since the 1970s. To date, it is still popular in Europe and CIS countries as an alternative to benzodiazepines. This drug is not approved for use in the United States, however its D-enantiomer Dextofisopam is in phase II clinical trials for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.

"As a person with unstable psyche, I'm prone to stress and anxiety. A long trip, college, then a pregnancy, then my husband was recruited into the army. All this has accumulated over time. And one day, when everything was fine, my husband and child were with me, my nerves passed. I fell into depression. I've never experienced this before. Every day my condition worsened more and more, I did not eat anything, left the college, did not care about my child ... Everything turned into hell. I went to the doctor, but he did not help much. So I decided to visit a psychiatrist. His diagnosis was: moderate depression with anxiety disorder and nervous system exhaustion. He offered me an antidepressant, but I refused. Then he proposed Grandaxin, who pulled me out of this terrible state.
The drug begins to act two hours after ingestion. This brings a sense of indifference and relieves anxiety. I was given one pill twice a day. But then there were side effects, such as an apathetic feeling in the first half hour, then slight difficulty breathing. After about an hour these problems go away and it turns out to see this world from a different angle. The doctor suggested taking half the pill four times a day. Now I take it three days and already noticed that it helps me with my depression. My hands no longer tremble with nerves, I stopped crying, became more active and began to return to life.
Grandaxin was prescribed along with other medicines and vitamins. Very good drug. If your doctor prescribed it to you - take it without doubting. "
"The doctor appointed me Paxil and Grandaxin because of my vegetation. I decided not to take Paxil because of its huge list of side effects, but decided to try Tofisopam. My main problem is the fear of going out on the street in the morning, the fear was so intense that I always got to my car in a presyncopal state. I started taking two tablets daily, one morning and one for dinner, it is not recommended to take it later to avoid sleeping problems. In the first week, I think, I got worse, but later I began to feel positive dynamics. I became calmer, less fear arose, I did not suffer from frequent palpitations, noticed a general improvement. At least I can easily get to my car, which is good. I took it for 20 days, now I took a break, and I think that in April I will go through another 20-day course, despite my doctor's suggestion that I can take it for three months without interruption. So, I believe that this drug helps, but does not completely eliminate all symptoms. "
"It so happened that all my problems fell on me at the same time. At first there was irritability, then a mental disorder, and as a result - insomnia. Even after a hard working day full of physical work, I was able to fall asleep because of my exhaustion, but not for long. I woke up at midnight, with a head full of bad thoughts, and so I lay in bed until morning, not falling asleep. Of course, in the morning I was overwhelmed, tired, with a terrible mood. Sometimes I had a fever, it's so unpleasant! Novo-Passit no longer helped, like other sedatives, such as motherwort or valerian root.
Fortunately, my sister-in-law visited me and offered to try Grandaxin. I carefully examined the package and decided to take two tablets. As for me, this drug helped immediately. I calmed down, I can not say that completely, but my restless state is gone, I was not nervous, and most importantly, my sleep was normal. I could not believe my eyes that when I woke up it was 6 o'clock in the morning! Before that, I could only sleep until 3am. I began to think less about bad things, the general condition improved.
It is recommended to take Grandaxin courses, but I'm afraid to become addicted to it, so I stopped taking it and see what happens next. So, for people who have the same symptoms, I suggest trying Tofisopam after consulting a doctor.
I have heard about Grandaxine for a long time and saw many reviews. Recently I began to suffer from panic attacks. I went to the doctor, and he prescribed me this drug. I took him for four days, but I could not stand it any longer, I did not notice anything but a side effect. In particular, what I noticed is a complete loss of appetite, redundancy of saliva and an increase in panic attacks.
