Valerian extract (Valerian) instructions for use

LOCATION AND FORM FORWARD:

Valerian extract dry 30 mg C
Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, copovidone, silicon dioxide colloidal anhydrous, magnesium stearate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol (macrogol) 3350, titanium dioxide (E 171), talc, yellow sunset FCF (E 110), iron oxide yellow (E 172), ponso 4R (E 124).

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:

the drug reduces the excitability of the central nervous system. The action is due to the content of essential oil, most of which is the ester of borneol alcohol and isovaleric acid. Sedative properties are also valapotriates and alkaloids - valerine and chotinine. The sedative effect manifests itself slowly, but quite stable.
Valerian acid and valapotriates have a weak spasmolytic effect.

INDICATIONS:

increased nervous excitability, insomnia; as part of combined therapy with mild functional disorders from the cardiovascular system.

APPLICATION:

the drug is applied inward after the meal. The recommended dose for adults and children over the age of 12 years is 30-60 mg (1-2 tablets) 3-4 times a day. Pills swallow without chewing, drinking a sufficient amount of fluid.

The duration of treatment is determined by the physician depending on the therapeutic effect and the tolerability of the drug.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

increased individual sensitivity to valerian or other components of the drug. Depression and other conditions accompanied by oppression of the central nervous system.

ADVERSE EFFECTS:

from the central and peripheral nervous system: dizziness, sleepiness, oppression of emotional reactions, depression, general weakness, decrease of mental and physical working capacity.

From the digestive tract: nausea.

On the part of the immune system: reactions of increased sensitivity, including rash, itching, hyperemia.

The drug contains E110 and E124, which can cause allergic reactions.

SPECIAL NOTES:

during the use of the drug you must refrain from drinking alcohol. Patients who have had a severe liver function disorder or have had a severe liver disease in the past should be careful when taking the drug. There may be a specific sensitivity to the valerian smell.
The drug contains lactose, therefore, patients with rare hereditary diseases such as galactose intolerance, lupus lactase deficiency or malabsorption of glucose-galactose should not take this medication. The drug contains an azo dye yellow sunset (E110), which can cause allergic reactions.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is not recommended to use the drug due to insufficient data on the safety of use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Where are you. Used for the treatment of children from the age of 12 years. The expediency of prescribing a drug for children aged 6 years or more is determined by the doctor in each individual case.
Ability to influence the reaction speed when driving vehicles or other mechanisms. When using the drug, you should refrain from driving vehicles, working with potentially dangerous mechanisms.

INTEROPERABILITY:

Valerian preparations can increase the effect of alcohol, sedative, hypnotics, analgesic, antispasmodic and anxiolytic drugs.

BREATHING:

symptoms: headache, dizziness, drowsiness, lethargy, general weakness, tremor, enlargement of the pupils, feeling of squeezing in the chest, abdominal pain, nausea, decreased hearing and vision, tachycardia.

Treatment: stop using the drug, rinse the stomach, take activated charcoal. Therapy is symptomatic.
