Coccarboxylase Forte (Cocarboxylase) Instructions for use

Composition of the drug:

active ingredient : 1 tablet contains: Thiamin-pyrophosphate chloride di-acetic-magnesium (II) potassium salt trihydrate, based on 100% substance 25 mg or 50 mg;
auxiliary substances: lactose, monohydrate; microcrystalline cellulose; powdered sugar; calcium stearate

Dosage form

Tablets. Tablets are white, round, with a biconvex surface and with a dash on one side.

Thiamin-pyrophosphate chloride diaminoacetate-magnesium (II) potassium salt trihydrate is the original coordination compound of cocarboxylase (thiamine pyrophosphate hydrochloride). The presence of glycine in the composition of magnesium ions and amino acids is accompanied by an increase in the activity of cocarboxylase in the carbohydrate metabolism enzymes for which it is a coenzyme.

In the body of cocarboxylase in combination with protein and magnesium ions, it is an integral part of carboxylase enzyme that catalyzes decarboxylation and carboxylation of a-ketoacids. Carboxylase activates the main enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism, which is accompanied by increased utilization of glucose by tissues. Strengthening the metabolism of glucose results in activation of tissue respiration, increased production of ATP and reduced accumulation of lactic acid. This effect is accompanied by an improvement in metabolic processes, especially in diabetes mellitus.Cocarboxylase contributes to a more complete utilization of pyruvic acid, which is accompanied by an improvement in the function of nerve fibers in diabetes mellitus and a decrease in the phenomena of neuropathy.

Cocartoxylase-Forte promotes the normalization of cell metabolism under conditions of ischemia and hypoxia. The use of the drug in conditions associated with the activation of free radical reactions, is accompanied by an improvement in antioxidant status.

After sublingual (sublingual) reception, the components of the drug quickly absorbed into the bloodstream. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is determined after 0.5-1.5 hours. Metabolism products are excreted by the kidneys.

Indications for use

As part of a comprehensive treatment:

• diabetes mellitus and its complications;
• liver diseases regardless of etiology, to increase the activity of hepatocytes to various pathological influences (viral, inflammatory, intoxication);
• liver failure;
• ischemic heart disease;
• peripheral neuritis;
• inflammatory and toxic lesions of the heart muscle (myocarditis);
• myocardial infarction.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

When using Cocharboxylase-Forte, patients with diabetes need to monitor blood glucose levels.

Special warnings

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The efficacy and safety of the use of cocarboxylase hydrochloride during pregnancy or breastfeeding are not established, therefore the preparation to appoint in this period is not recommended.

The efficacy and safety of Coccarboxylase-Forte for children under the age of 12 years have not been studied, so it is not recommended to prescribe this age category of patients.

Method of administration and dose

Adults and children over 12 years of age usually take the pill under the tongue, holding it in the mouth until fully absorbed, 3-4 times a day. It is also possible to take the medication inward for 10-15 minutes before eating, 3-4 times a day. The duration of treatment is usually 20-30 days.

Overdose

Cases of overdose were not noted. Possibly increased manifestations of increased individual sensitivity to the drug.

Side effects

The drug is well tolerated, side effects develop very rarely. In some cases, people with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug during its use may develop allergic reactions (urticaria, skin rash, itching). In this case, the dose is reduced or discontinued. After the drug is discontinued, all side effects disappear quickly.

Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions

With the simultaneous use of Coccarboxylase-Forte with sugar-reducing agents, consideration should be given to increasing their activity.

Carboxylase enhances the cardiotonic effect of cardiac glycosides and improves their tolerability.
