Composition:

active ingredients: 1 capsule contains a mixture of medicinal plant raw materials "Phytosed": сrataegi fructus (hawthorn fruit) - 30 mg, leonuri cardiacae herba (motherwort grass) - 60 mg, lupuli strobili (hop cones) - 60 mg, aveni fructus ) - 75 mg, melissae officinalis herba - 45 mg, coriandri fructus (coriander fruit) - 15 mg, meliloti herba (sweet grass) - 15 mg.

Pharmacological properties

The drug has a sedative effect due to its constituent components.

The active substances of hawthorn fruit (flavonoids, organic acids, etc.) lower the excitability of the central nervous system, improve the coronary and cerebral circulation, normalize the heart rhythm, eliminate dizziness.

The complex of biologically active substances of herb Leonurus (alkaloids, glycosides, etc.), in addition to the expressed sedative effect, has an antihypertensive effect, reduces the heart rate.

In cones of hop contains essential oil, resins, flavonoids and other similar substances, which causes a sedative effect.

Indole alkaloid avenin contained in oats, vitamin B and other substances have a beneficial effect on the nervous system and show a pronounced calming effect.

The balm of lemon balm has an antidepressant, soothing, toning action.

The fruits of coriander have a sedative effect with increased nervous excitability.

Grass of sweet clover has a sedative effect.

The sedative effect of the drug comes from the first day of use. The maximum therapeutic effect occurs after 1-1.5 hours and lasts 2-4 hours.

Indications for use

As a sedative with neuroses of different etiologies; mild neurasthenia, which is accompanied by irritability, anxiety, fear, increased fatigue, absent-mindedness; nervous excitement; sleep disorders or insomnia (mild forms); neurocirculatory dystonia in hypertensive and cardiac type; asthenic syndrome (hypersthenic form).

Contraindications

Phytosed is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to any component of the drug, severe arterial hypotension and bradycardia, with reduced blood clotting and internal bleeding, with depression and other diseases accompanied by central nervous system depression.

Appropriate safety measures for use

To avoid the occurrence of side effects during application, the recommendations in the section "Method of administration and dose" should be strictly adhered to.

Special caveats

Use during pregnancy or lactation. The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated.

The ability to influence the speed of reactions when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms

The drug is not prescribed to drivers and persons working with mechanisms and devices requiring increased attention and rapid motor reactions.

Children

Do not administer to children under 12 years of age.

Dosing and Administration

Assign inside adults and children over 12 years 1-2 capsules 3 times a day 30 minutes after meals; the drug should be washed with at least 100 ml of liquid. The course of treatment is 4 weeks. If necessary, it can be repeated after 10-15 days. During the year, the treatment course is recommended to be repeated 2-3 times.

Overdose

When using doses exceeding the recommended doses, there may be drowsiness, dizziness, headache, fatigue, abdominal pain, tremor of the hands, dilated pupils, a feeling of tightness in the chest, bradycardia. In some cases, it is possible to reduce blood pressure, the emergence of dyspeptic phenomena (nausea, vomiting, heartburn). Therapy is symptomatic.

Side effects

From the side of the cardiovascular system: it is very rarely possible a noticeable reduction in blood pressure; bradycardia.
From the central nervous system: dizziness, drowsiness (when taking high doses of the drug), fatigue, headache; in connection with the expressed sedative effect of the motherwort - a decrease in mental and physical ability to work.
From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting, pain in the epigastric region, heartburn.
Allergic reactions: with increased sensitivity to the components of the drug may occur hives, itching, small-dotted and spotted red rashes.

Interaction with other drugs and other interactions

The drug enhances the effect of hypnotics and other medications that depress the central nervous system. With the simultaneous administration of Phytodesa ® with cardiac glycosides, the action of the latter is enhanced.

The drug may slightly potentiate the effect of direct and indirect anticoagulants. It is not recommended to take the drug simultaneously with the salts of alkaloids in connection with the possibility of formation of negative complexes. Do not use simultaneously with antiarrhythmic drugs of the third generation.

The drug can potentiate the pharmacological effects of analgesic, antihypertensive drugs, and also enhances the effect of alcohol.

Shelf life

2 years. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.
